Purpose of Being
On 27th of May 2009 the Ku-ring-gai Planning Panel presented the draft "Ku-ring-gai Local Environment Plan (Town Centres) 2008" for adoption in the main auditorium at UTS Lindfield. This meeting was the catalyst for the formation of the Ku-ring-gai Residents Alliance (KRA) group. Different participants at the meeting represented various interest groups and opposed very specific developments, but no overarching cohesive group appeared present to unite Ku-ring-gai.
Advocacy representatives of various Ku ring gai groups have since expressed support for some different ideas, new voices and approach. The existing advocacy groups will continue to exist. KRA will merely be a source, where invited, for cohesion, unity of voice and resources, where applicable. KRA respects and congratulates the various existing groups for their untiring work and advocacy over the last 10 years and thanks them without reserve or equivocation.
Objectives
To oppose the over development of Ku-ring-gai. To be a voice for the 100,000 residents of Ku-ring-gai. who have been denied a voice regarding development by the appointment of the Ku-ring-gai Planning Panel and by Ministerial direction.
